Rooted in ancient traditions of honoring from
a place of deep spiritual prayer
Tepito Coffee Roasters was founded by Richard Cabral and Mike de la Rocha, two Chicanos on a lifelong journey of spirit, storytelling, and activism.
Richard Cabral is an Emmy-nominated actor, producer and writer. A Homeboy Industries alumnus, Richard has dedicated his life to giving back to his community of East Los Angeles. As Richard stated, “Imprisoned at the age of 13, I spent years behind bars until I met Father Greg when I was 25 years old. Love is what Father G showed me. He showed me that I was not my worst mistake. That I was more. I have continued my commitment to Homeboy Industries after all these years for one simple fact: I am a homeboy.”
MIKE DE LA ROCHA
Mike de la Rocha is a strategist, musician and entrepreneur. As co-founder of Revolve Impact, Mike has led several of the largest policy victories and cultural shifts in American history. As Mike stated, “I am honored to be a part of a coffee company that is rooted in the ancestral homeland, and chosen home of my father who immigrated to Boyle Heights as a young child. This is my personal prayer to my father who unexpectedly passed away five years ago. Through Tepito Coffee Roasters, I’m able to give back to the land that’s the foundation of our collective origin story together.”
